Species shown: Green finch (Chloris chloris)

This bird is widespread throughout Europe, North Africa and Southwest Asia. Greenfinches feed on a great variety of seeds, berries, fruit, buds, flowers and some arthropods. They forage in trees and bushes, and also on the ground. Green finches can show competitive foraging behavior, as shown in this photo.
