Species shown: Diadem/ Danaid Egg Fly (Hypolimnas misippus)
Commonly known as the Danaid eggfly or diadem, this is a widespread species of nymphalid butterfly, with males typically appearing blackish with distinctive white spots fringed in blue. However, females show multiple forms that include male-like forms while others closely resemble toxic butterflies. Some could be mistaken for the Lesser Monarch.
